Chemical processes are mostly based on at least one catalytic step. Such reactions can mainly be found in chemical and pharmaceutical syntheses, but also the automobile industry belongs to the most important field of applied catalysis.

Due to their activities and selectivities, catalysts for the automobile industry are mainly based on the platinum group metals (PGM’s), i.e. platinum, palladium and rhodium.

Ravindra Heraeus manufactures precious metal compounds and solutions as core products, which serve to coat such catalyst supports. We do not compete with our customers in the OEM automotive sector.
